Case Study 1
The MCPP strategic planning process for a 250-physician multi-specialty group practice included working with seven specialty divisions (internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, OB/GYN, surgery, anesthesia, and psychiatry) on data collection and development of division specific strategic plans, as well as identification of cross cutting strategic issues and work with the Board of Directors on the overall strategic plan.

To support the decision making process, MCPP built a clinical/financial forecasting computer model for each of the divisions and rolled these up into an overall model for strategic decisions at the Board level.

Case Study 2
On a smaller scale, MCPP worked with staff of a provider membership organization to structure a Board strategic planning process. The organization's staff gathered and analyzed the SWOT information and prepared the background briefing materials for the board members.

The MCPP consultant provided ideas to the staff and facilitated the board retreat. The consultant role in this project was to help structure a decision making process that would assure organizational direction by the end of the day.
