Business Process Redesign

Process redesign looks at the business processes of the organization, e.g. billing and collection, to assure that the business processes meet the needs of the organization by identifying customer requirements and establishing performance targets.

Data is collected to determine current performance, and the existing process is flowcharted to identify failpoints and to establish if the workflow is the actual cause of outcome failure.

A new workflow is created to make the process as effective and efficient as possible. Resources needed for the process are identified, such as staffing, policies and procedures, technology and supplies.

A work plan is then developed to assure that the new workflow is implemented completely and that all resources needed are obtained and in place. Training on the new process is essential for the process to be successful.

Once the new process has been implemented, data is collected on a regular basis to assure that performance targets are being met. Ongoing monitoring allows for continuous improvement of business processes.
