Case Study 1
A large county mental health system was "flying blind" because they had no caseload or utilization reports to assist clinicians and managers in addressing the problems facing the organization.
MCPP helped the county design, develop and implement a clinician reporting system so that, on a monthly basis, every clinician in the organization, including medical staff, crisis workers and outpatient clinicians would receive a detailed 1-page report that provided important information about the clients on their caseloads, their month-to-date and year-to-date productivity, and the revenue they generated.
These reports had roll-up versions that were provided to supervisors and managers, which served as important focal points for understanding individual clinician caseloads as well as the performance of each unit.
Case Study 2
A consortium of 10 provider organizations in a 5-county region had the unenviable experience of learning that their software vendor was "closing up shop" and discontinuing support for their mission critical practice management system.
MCPP worked with a multi-agency, cross-functional staff team to develop detailed specifications for an integrated behavioral health information system. To move the organizations to the next level the system needed to provide call center, practice management, electronic medical records, and management reporting capabilities.
An MCPP consultant led a comprehensive procurement process including phone interviews, product demonstrations, and site visits. Rather than requiring vendors to complete many hours of written answers to questions, the process focused on vendors building a test database and then demonstrating several real-life scenarios important to the organizations. This resulted in the selection and successful implementation of a new, innovative system.
